Leadership

Michael Gardenhire
Senior Pastor
Bishop Michael Gardenhire was born and raised in Queens, New York, where he was shaped by a strong legacy of faith as the son of a pastor. From an early age, he developed a love for music, ministry, and service—passions that would guide his life’s calling. At 18, he married his first wife, Vikki Crawford, with whom he shared nearly 40 years of marriage and raised three children: Melanie, Brian, and Justin. In 2018, Bishop was blessed to marry Faye Dames.
Under the mentorship of Bishop Crawford, Bishop Gardenhire faithfully served as Assistant Pastor for 22 years before assuming the role of Senior Pastor of New Castle Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York, in 2003. With over two decades of ministry experience, he has served as a pastor, minister of music, teacher, and counselor, with a deep passion for evangelism, youth ministry, and community outreach.
Bishop’s vision is for the church to be a “Spiritual Hospital”—a place of healing for the body, mind, soul, and spirit. He remains committed to serving the forgotten, visiting the sick, widows, and incarcerated, and living out the mandate to be the church beyond the church walls.
His guiding scripture is John 9:4:
“We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day…”
